Detailed Description

Duncan Russell is a Fellow of the London Geological Society and a Chartered Geologist with over thirty years environmental consulting experience in land and water quality assessment and remediation. As a water scientist he has significant experience in the in the interactions between land use, soils, surface water and groundwater. In the past Duncan has advised British Gas, the UK’s Ministry of Defence, the Irish Army and England’s former Regional Development Agency’s on their estate’s land condition and, where appropriate, remediation of their contaminated land. More recently Duncan has specialised in the assessment and remediation of spills and leaks of hazardous liquids such as trade effluent and municipal sewerage impacting sensitive land holdings and water bodies. Duncan is a Technical Director at Wallingford HydroSolutions Ltd (WHS) and has frequently acted as an expert witness assisting in the hearing of planning and litigation proceedings associated with pollution events from construction sites as well as industrial operations. Most recently he has been assisting clients in updating their Control of Major Accident Hazard Reports in relation to flooding, and the hazards and pollutant linkages that arise during flood events.
