Welcoming Freddie as the Recently Qualified SiLC Representative

Freddie Kennedy, Associate Director at AtkinsRéalis, has stepped into the role of Recently Qualified SiLC representative on the SiLC Professional and Technical Panel (PTP), bringing with him a wealth of technical experience, sector insight, and a genuine passion for supporting the next generation of land condition professionals.

With a career spanning both blue‑chip multinationals and specialist engineering consultancies, Freddie has assessed a wide variety of sites and delivered remediation strategies for projects ranging from small redevelopment schemes to complex, high‑risk environments such as former gasworks, landfills, and PFAS‑impacted airfields. He is particularly motivated by embedding sustainability in a value‑engineered, practical way, ensuring that environmental outcomes and project efficiency go hand in hand.

Reflecting on his new role, Freddie shared:

“I am really pleased to share that I have recently stepped into the role of Recently Qualified SiLC on the SiLC Professional Technical Panel.
In this role I want to help to strengthen the number of aspiring SiLCs and support recently qualified SiLCs in building a strong and visible profile for themselves in the environmental sector.
What I love most about SiLC is the commitment to rigour and technical excellence. It is an organisation that stands for the very best in the land condition sector and I am really pleased that I can be part of that. My career has certainly benefited from becoming a qualified SiLC and I hope that more and more can feel the same.
I am excited to get started and contribute to the great work already happening at SiLC.”

Freddie’s appointment strengthens SiLC’s commitment to nurturing early‑career professionals and ensuring that recently qualified practitioners have a strong voice within the PTP. His enthusiasm for collaboration, technical excellence, and sector‑wide visibility makes him a fantastic addition to the panel.

We’re delighted to welcome Freddie into this role and look forward to the energy, insight, and advocacy he will bring.
