Detailed description

I have been a land contamination specialist since 1992 and became a SiLC in 2005. I am Epsom and Ewell Borough Council's Contaminated Land Officer and also work on a freelance basis. Previous posts have included Principal Consultant and Section Head at Atkins, where I completed two secondments to the former National Rivers Authority and Southern Water. I have extensive experience in ground and groundwater contamination investigation, assessment and remediation for a broad range of site types in the UK and overseas. I am the joint-author of numerous publications including technical guidance documents for the Environment Agency covering subjects such as the characterisation of contaminated sites and the investigation and remediation of 'special sites'. I Chair the Surrey Contaminated Land Officers' Group and am a member of CIWEM's Contaminated Land Network Steering Group.
