I am a Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Scientist with 23 years' experience built across both sides of the regulatory interface, giving me the unique professional insight of understanding precisely what regulators look for and how to deliver work that stands up to scrutiny on both sides of the fence. My 15 years in consultancy spans nine years delivering Preliminary Risk Assessments, intrusive site investigation, generic and detailed quantitative risk assessment, and remediation strategies and verification reporting at RPS Group (now Tetra Tech), including international fieldwork on oil refineries in Algeria and Albania and a six-month hydrogeology secondment in Australia, followed by six years as Principal Consultant at Compliance 4 Buildings. Across two Surrey local authorities I have worked as a Contaminated Land Officer and Environmental Protection Team Leader for over 13 years, leading Part IIA investigations on former landfills and brick and tile works, managing Part B permitting and planning consultations, and overseeing a team of eight with a 100% record on capital grant funding bids. I hold specialist radiological qualifications as a designated Radiation Protection Supervisor, chair the Surrey Councils Pollution Study Group, and represent Surrey Contaminated Land Officers at the National Contaminated Land Officers Group (NCLOG).
