Mr Ian Nicolas Heasman
Coming from an earth sciences background, Ian has more than twenty years experience in industry, consultancy and academia within the area of environmental and sustainability management and assessment. Ian’s career started at Imperial College and with environmental consultancy practices ERM and then RPS. For the last fourteen years he has been working within the construction sector, initially with the civil engineering company Taylor Woodrow. Ian is currently the Associate Director for Brownfield and Sustainability for Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd, the UK’s second largest house builder. Within his organisation Ian spends the majority of his time on sustainability related matters fronting programmes on waste and resources, carbon, sustainability strategy and non-financial information. He also has a central role in brownfield remediation and regeneration, focusing on site characterisation, risk assessment, as well as policy and legislative matters such as Part2A. Ian represents his company at national and international forums including NICOLE, SAGTA, the HBF and with government. Within NICOLE he chaired the Brownfield Working Group which has recently published work on environmental liability transfer in Europe. He is a Chartered Environmentalist (C Env) and a SiLC (Specialist in Land Condition).
